DWR released the draft Subsidence Best Management Practices document for public review on July 24, 2025 and held 3 workshops in Clovis, Delano, and Willows, CA. SFKGSA attended the Clovis workshop and was able to have discussions with DWR staff regarding the document. DWR Staff is currently prohibited by their legal council from communicating Tulare Lake subbasin GSAs, including SFKGSA. This workshop provided us with a rare opportunity to ask questions and get feedback in a public forum which was much appreciated. We asked DWR for technical assistance in determining how to address subsidence in the SFKGSA area due to the huge socio-economic impacts related to restricting pumping below the Corcoran Clay. Although the DWR public responses at the workshop were generic, they did commit to providing assistance on a technical level.
